Devoted Rejects, Here are the patch notes for our latest update, Path of Redemption. It is live now on Steam, and will shortly follow on our other platforms.
 
New Additions
Shrine Penitentax Welcome to Shrine Penitentax, Sister Hestia Prine’s alcove on the Mourningstar’s main deck, and where she will be recording the penances the rejects undertake in their fight to liberate Atoma. It is located straight across from Sire Melk’s Requisitorum, and has been newly renovated to accommodate the expanding number of records and scrolls needed.   

(We had simply too many penances to be able to fit them all in the patch notes, so be sure to check them out in game!)

What’s coming up in Darktide?
Our first update will focus on a comprehensive revamp and expansion of the penance system, including adding many additional rewards and a completely new way to earn them. We will be sharing more information on this update by the end of the month along with a dev blog, so keep your eyes peeled on our Communication channels to learn more.

Following this, we are working on an overhaul of our current itemisation process. With the new system we want to remove a lot of the unpredictable grind that came from an RNG heavy system whilst giving players more agency and a steady manner to progress toward specific loadouts, blessings, and stats refinement.

Heroes!

Thank you for all your incredible feedback on the 'Righteous Stand' map so far, we will now be swapping map to 'Screaming Bell' from 13:30 CET 12th March - 10:00 CET 15th March. We will swap over gradually so it may take some time before you start to queue in to the 'Screaming Bell' map.

For those who played or watched during our Closed Alpha Test here are the changes we have made to 'Screaming Bell' for this test:
  • Increased enemy presence (including enemies triggered by certain events)
  • Reduced pickups / health
  • Added a Reach objective stage after the Bell event (before the Bridge of Shadows)

  • Fixed a crash which would happen when reaching the mid-event in the Warren 6-19 mission if the “Mostly ranged Enemies” Maelstrom modifier was active.
  • Fixed an issue where the crash reporter was assigning the wrong category to crashes.

  • Fixed a crash which could happen if a player joined a mission while a projectile was traveling in the air.
  • Fixed an issue where the Veteran "Onslaught" talent did not affect melee attacks.

  • Achlys Mk VII Twin-Linked Heavy Stubber: decreased time to fire first shot from 0.22s to 0s, improved deploy speed, reload speed, movement speed while firing, tighter spread while braced, even tighter spread while braced + crouched.

Mission: Mercantile HL 70-04
Wyrmwood reports indicate that the Moebian VI have set up a base of operations in the Carnival. What's more, they are using some of the more disreputable areas of Mercantile HL 70-04 to produce stimms and distribute them out to the rest of the Hive. Get in there and recover samples we can analyse for traces of the Blight.

Dev note: This mission will be available on the mission board 1-2 hours after the patch release.

Hello Devoted Rejects!
My name is Mats Andersson, also known as the resident Combat guy, Lead Combat Designer or just “Ratherdone” around the interwebs. I’d like to tell the story of the Darktide team's new take on classes and all the player choice and build availability that comes with it. This update is the result of a wide collaboration throughout the project as changing the core of what defines a player character has far-reaching implications on many parts of the game.

First off, we’ve always looked at Darktide as a game where you define your own character and play style. Much more so than in our previous tide-games. The idea that we’d be less prescriptive in the way we present who you play always has some friction with the class system.   • +X Stamina perks now give incrementally higher bonuses (+1 / +1.25 / +1.5 / +2).

In this dev blog we are going to dive into three topics and upcoming changes that we will be making to them. The three topics are the Mission Board, Crafting, and Currencies/Resources within Darktide.

All the changes that we will be discussing in this dev blog have been in development, and are being prepared to launch in Patch #12 (1.1.20). These changes mark the next step in our support to the game, we will keep on monitoring feedback and evaluate future changes.

For clarity, these changes are not the only changes currently in development and being worked on by the team. We’re also still hard at work on Darktide for Xbox!

The comms team is back from its break and so are comm-links! Due to the summer hiatus, this edition will be shorter than usual. We will also have a slower pace of Comm-links for the foreseeable future, to make way for more varied types of comms, such as dev blogs.

Here is what you can expect for the coming weeks on Darktide:
  • On August 3rd, we will publish a Dev Blog focusing on upcoming changes in Patch #12 (1.1.20), giving you an in-depth look at our plans for account based currencies, perk refinements, adjustments to crafting locks and options on the mission board.
  • In the first half of August we will be releasing Patch #12 alongside its patchnotes.

  • Fixed a crash that could occur when looking at the new penances.
  • Fixed an obstruction before the drop to the mid event in the Power Matrix HL-17-36 mission when playing with the Power Supply Interruption condition.
  • Fixed clipping issues for the “Desolation” Cap cosmetic in the “The Kalidar Wars” bundle.
  • Fixed an issue where “Invert Look Y-Axis” was not working as intended.
Mission Board Changes:
  • The increased presence of Ascension Riser 31 on the Mission Board will end after deployment of the 1.1.3 Hotfix.
  • Power Matrix HL-17-36 is once again available to play on the Mission Board.

  • Fix for crash when throwing projectiles and hitting destructible scenery.
  • Improved decision logic for the Chaos Spawn leap trajectory to minimize cases where it gets stuck on something along the leap (e.g. small box).
  • Patch #10 included a change aimed at fixing sprint and firerate interactions, which had an unintended impact on charge attacks while sprint-sliding. Fixed so that sprinting into slide does not break charging on ‘Brainburst’ and all Psyker staffs.
  • Resolved an issue where the background colour of weapon or curio cards in the Loadout / Inventory view would not appear.
